Carolee Schneemann’s home is a historic 1750s residence and is now conserved as a living archive of her work. The home and studio where Schneemann lived and worked from 1965 until her death includes her extensive personal library, archives, and artistic interventions embedded throughout the structure.
The Carolee Schneemann Foundation is honored that Schneemann’s home in New Paltz, NY, has been selected to join the coalition of Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios (HAHS) as an Affiliate site. A program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, HAHS is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the places where art was made.
