Biltmore Estate is a National Historic Landmark featuring America’s largest home, designed by Richard Morris Hunt, with surrounding landscapes created by Frederick Law Olmsted.
At the height of the Gilded Age, three of the era’s most significant figures combined their vision with the tireless labor of hundreds of individuals to create one of the most magnificent residences in the country. The construction of Biltmore House brought together the highest quality materials from around the world, technological innovation, and logistic coordination on an unprecedented scale.
Today's preservation efforts include maintaining the 250-room home and its magnificent collections, plus 8,000 acres of carefully managed gardens, forests, farmlands, wildlife habitats, and original estate structures.
From estate admission tickets, Biltmore wines, overnight accommodations, dining, shopping, and more, the estate's income contributes to the mission of preservation.
