The Heritage Society maintains ten historic structures, houses dating from 1823 to 1905 with guided tours. Shown here is the 1868 Pilot House which was built for the family of Eugene Pillot, a French immigrant who had relocated with his parents and siblings to the Republic of Texas from New York City in 1837.
Together these ten buildings and the Museum Gallery hold a collection of more than 23,000 artifacts that document life in Houston in days of old.
The interiors of the historic buildings can be seen by docent-guided tour only.
