PMH was founded as Pasadena Historical Society in 1924, and since 1970 the Museum has been headquartered on the two-acre grounds of the Fenyes Estate, a Pasadena Cultural Landmark that is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, art, and culture of Pasadena and the west San Gabriel Valley, PMH offers the public changing exhibitions, events and lectures, docent-led tours, school tours, and free access to the Research Library & Archives.

With its original furnishings and art collection, the Fenyes Mansion - a Pasadena Cultural Heritage landmark - offers a unique glimpse into life on Pasadena’s Millionaire’s Row. There are over 12,000 objects in the collections, including significant paintings and artifacts relevant to the history of the area. Major collections include the Costume & Textile Collection, the Ernest A. Batchelder Tile Collection, and a mid-century ceramics collection.
