A local, non-profit cultural institution, Design Museum of Chicago strives to facilitate conversations around design, believing that design is not just a single discipline or process, but rather a persistent element present in our everyday environments and experiences.
The museum mounts roughly three shows per year, each of which are open for four months. The museum is closed between exhibitions for two months as staff, volunteers, and interns design, build, and install the next exhibition. Check before visiting, to avoid disappointment.
