Pioneer Works is a cultural center dedicated to experimentation, education, and production across disciplines. Through a broad range of programs, performances, residencies, and exhibitions, Pioneer Works transcends disciplinary boundaries to foster a community where alternative modes of thought are activated and supported.
Through residency, programs, exhibitions, classes, and publications, Pioneer Works supports artists who are primarily young, marginalized, or overlooked with a focus on experimentation and the production of new work.
Located in the 1866 Pioneer Iron Works building -- originally a factory for constructing large-scale industrial materials, which remained in operation until the end of World War II -- a landmark that gave Pioneer Street its name.
The Pioneer Works galleries are open from Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7pm. Admission is free.
