The Samurai Collection has been carefully built by the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller family over the past 25 years. The museum is located in Dallas’ district of Harwood at the historic St. Ann’s School.
Centuries of craftsmanship are represented in the collection, with objects dating from the 7th- to 19th-century. Samurai masterpieces in the collection include suits of armor, helmets, masks, horse armor, and weaponry. A portion of the collection is has been organized into a traveling exhibition consisting of 140 objects; it has been seen by well over one million people worldwide since 2011.
The Samurai Collection is the permanent home in Dallas for the Barbier-Mueller's collection and the objects are rotated through the Museum twice annually.
