AIA Houston & ArCH was forced to close due to flooding during hurricane Harvey but has been rebuilt and is open once again. To protect the building from the future flooding events, a cutting-edge flood mitigation system was designed.
Located in the 1906 B.A. Riesner building in the historic Market Square district in Downtown Houston, just a block away from Allen’s Landing, the site of Houston’s founding, Architecture Center Houston is the only public venue in Houston dedicated to the appreciation of architecture, design and the built environment.
The mission of Architecture Center Houston (ArCH) is to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the ways in which architecture, design and urban planning influence and enhance the quality of life in our community. ArCH is intended to be a place for the public, both Houston residents and visitors, to learn about architecture and design in general and the built environment of greater Houston.
ArCH maintains a schedule of architectural walking tours.
