Founded in 1856 the Chicago Historical Society has growen and changed over the years. In February 2006, the Chicago Historical Society announced its new name: The Chicago History Museum, and later that year, the Museum celebrated a grand reopening, unveiling a dramatic new lobby and redesigned exhibition spaces.
The Museum shares the stories of the city and its people through exhibitions, programs, publications, and digital media.
Included among the exhibits at the Museum are photography, art and design exhibitions.
