Housed in a mansion above Lake Michigan, designed and built in 1923 in the style of a 16th century Northern Italian villa, museum collections include furnishings and works of art from the 15th through the 18th centuries.
Also featured is an interpretation of the life and work of a late-19th/early-20th century artisan blacksmith Cyril Colnik, an integral part of Milwaukee's architectural history. The display features the implements of a blacksmith shop, complete with forge, anvil and black-smithing tools, and historical photos of the blacksmith's creative process.
