A teaching museum with a focus on modern and contemporary art and artists, exhibits focus on current directions in regional, national, and international art.
The Koehnline Museum of Art on the Des Plaines campus of Oakton Community College, and features paintings and sculptures of Chicago and Illinois artists as well as works by Alexander Calder, Salvador Dali, Jean Dubuffet, John Himmelfarb, Joseph Meert, Claes Oldenberg, and others.
Oakton Sculpture Park is part of the Koehnline Museum, and features a collection of 45 sculptures on permanent display, periodically augmented with temporary "sculpture invasion" exhibits of additional works.
