The collection of the University of Kentucky Art Museum includes European and American artwork ranging from Old Masters to contemporary, as well as a selection of Non-Western objects.
The broad range of artists represented include Alexander Calder, Agostino Carracci, Jean Dubuffet, Sam Gilliam, Louise Nevelson, and Gilbert Stuart, among others. As the longtime repository for artwork created under the aegis of the Works Progress Administration/Federal Art Project, the Art Museum preserves over 160 important works on paper and paintings by a diverse range of mid-century artists.
