A collection of more than 3,000 works of art includes art from the mid-19th century to the present, world religious art, and Midwestern regional art.
Highlights include landscapes by Frederic E. Church, large late-19th century paintings by Elizabeth Nourse; Impressionist paintings by Childe Hassam; urban realist paintings by John Sloan; modernist paintings by John Marin and Georgia O’Keeffe; and contemporary works from artists such as Elaine de Kooning, Andy Warhol, and Ansel Adams. Selections from the permanent collection are always on view in two of the Museum’s seven galleries.
Exhibitions are scheduled to conincide with academic sessions.
