A non-collecting museum dedicated to art, craft, and design, featuring regional, national, and international artists.
The museum grew out of an art fair and partnerships between volunteers and art patrons. Founded in 1975, and opened in its current location in 2001. The building's bold red color is an homage to the Little Red Schoolhouse, the original home of the Museum.
