In addition to Ethnographic and Natural History collections, the Museum holds an exemplary collection of American paintings, both historic and contemporary, and a smaller collection of European works.
Works on paper include drawings, prints, mixed-media collages, assemblages, and photographs; Decorative Arts holdings include ceramics, wood, textiles, porcelain, and metalwork pieces, and an extensive collection of Dorflinger glass. Also a notable collection of American Folk art.
