The Art collection shares space in the State Museum with Pennsylvania Anthropology, Archaeology, Geology and History.
Notable is the colossal bronze statue of William Penn, by Pennsylvania sculptor Janet de Coux; Vincent Maragliotti’s sweeping mural above depicting Pennsylvania’s history up to 1964; and on the 2nd floor, the magnificent floor-to-ceiling narrative painting Battle of Gettysburg: Pickett’s Charge (1870), by Peter F. Rothermel.
