The Arnot Art Museum is located in the 1833 Greek Revival home of Matthias H. Arnot, and grew from Arnot's original collection of 19th- and 20th-century American two and three-dimensional works of representational art.
The collection has grown to include 17th- to 19th-century European paintings and sculpture which are displayed Salon-style in the Picture Gallery. The Cultures Gallery presents Egyptian and East Asian artifacts.
Temporary exhibitions highlight various aspects of the collections and include works from around the world.
