A fine small museum, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is located in Hagerstown's historic City Park.
THe Museum's permanent collection includes more than 7,000 paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, and decorative arts representing a variety of international cultures. The collection is strong in American art, 19th century European, and international collections that reflect the founders’ cosmopolitan worldview.
The museum has long held two juried exhibitions annually: the Cumberland Valley Photographic Salon and the Cumberland Valley Artists Exhibition. Both are open to amateur and professional artists alike.
