Ringling Type Club is proud to present Ligature XIV: Dimensions - the 14th annual student-led, juried exhibition showcasing typographic excellence. The exhibition features work from students in all majors, allowing them to showcase their usage of type in various categories such as Drop Caps, Hand Lettering, and Type in Motion.
Ligature XIV: Dimensions looks to expand both the artist and the audience’s relationship with type, not only by visually taking it from flat forms to three-dimensional ones, but by shifting how type is understood, questioning its rules, and pushing it to new limits. As if stepping into a new world, a new dimension. To embrace this year's theme, Type Club encouraged artists to think outside of the box by introducing the new category of 3D to the show, allowing a specific showcase of physical handmade works for the first time in Ligature’s history.
This year’s exhibition was directed by Diego Villarreal, and produced by members of Ringling Type Club, including Dave Scheele, Avery Frost, Gaby Herrera Quintanilla, and Tako Pharsenadze.
