The museum is located in a stately historic home near downtown Vidalia. The neoclassic-style Brazell House, built in 1911, is on the National Register of Historic Places.

On display in the museum is an array of 20th century paintings, antique prints and furniture, as well as a notable collection of porcelain. With more than 260 pieces and 210 different patterns, the Libby Collection of Staffordshire porcelain dates from the 1800s.

Other permanent exhibits include 18th–19th C. European prints, the Aldridge Antique Clothing Collection, the Victorian Parlor and Bedroom, and vintage Vidalia photographs. The Girl Scout room, dedicated to Girl Scouts of all ages, exhibits scouting memorabilia dating back to 1929.

The museum is closed from mid-June to mid-September and mid-December to mid-January. During the rest of the year, it is open to the public and offers several showings and exhibits annually. Please call ahead for museum hours and exhibit information. Admission is free, thanks to the City of Vidalia and Altama members.
