Contemporary craft artists are equipped with an ever-growing availability of materials and technological resources, often resulting in mixed-media practices of both the two and three dimensional variety. Accordingly, Uncommon Exposures showcases how seemingly opposing practices, craft and photography, are brought together by artists through clay, fiber, jewelry, and other traditional craft-based media. In this exhibition, the provocative capabilities of both film and digital photography achieve a balance with the remarkable work of the handmade.
